KIMI RYOKAN
i arrive at the kimi ryokan in ikebukuro to chill for a day after the long flight and
before departing for the niigata prefecture. this photo is of the common room
in the kimi ryokan. i'll be back here in 10 days after the taiko workshop and some
other travelling.

JOETSU SHINKANSEN. 09.19.2006
high speed train from tokyo to niigata.
this photo was taken from the train. distant mountains and fields along the way
to niigata. it was a cloudy day... we went through quite a few mountain passes,
wish i could have seen them from the other side.

NIIGATA CITY. 09.19.2006
a view from my hotel room (star hotel - complete with in room internet access!!)

my first NOODLE BOWL of the trip. mmmm.. say no more!

KURUMI-YA
entrance way to a restaurant i didn't eat at, but it sure looked nice.

BANDAI BRIDGE.
a historic bridge in niigata city, crossing over the shinano river. it was originally
a wooden bridge that spanned 3 times its current distance. it has been rebuilt
3 times, the last time in 1929.
...it started raining lightly at this point and getting dark out.

SHINANO RIVER.
view of the shinano river from the bandai bridge
look at the dark clouds overhead....should i head back or keep going?

BANDAI BRIDGE.
view along the bandai bridge. the rain started coming down heavier at this point,
but it wasn't going to stop me from crossing the bridge!!

...to get to the ASAHI sign on the other side!
unfortunately (or fortunately), there was no beer fountain at the bottom of the
sign. beer is available at convience stores and vending machines all over japan!

HIGASHI O-DORI
wet streets and sidewalk on the walk back to the hotel.

MadnessTurnsToGlass
well, this is my first ever post on this blog or any blog for that matter. i am currently working on my new album titled "MadnessTurnsToGlass" to be released in the summer of 2006 on ant-zen. i am excited to be working on new material. it has been an exhausting process getting back into writing music.
here is some artwork i created to reflect the concept of the album and its title. this is by no means the cover artwork for the CD, but just something i needed to express in the meantime.
